History
Since the Institute has started training specialists in late 1950s in 12 specialities going beyond the finance and economics profile, the Ministry of Higher and Specialised Secondary Education of the Ukrainian RSR made a decision in 1960 to rename Kyiv Finance and Economics Institute into Kyiv National Economy Institute.
Education
Currently, Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economics University consists of nine Faculties: Economics and Management (with its dean A.P. Nalyvayko), International Economy and Management (with its dean D.H. Lukyanenko), Law (with its dean V.F. Opryshko), Human Resources Management and Marketing (with its dean O.K. Shafaliuk), Accounting and Economics (with its dean V.I. Yefimenko), Agroindustrial Sector Economics (with its dean M.M. Kotsupatry), Finance and Economics (with its dean V.K. Khlivny), Credit and Economics (with its dean M.I. Dyba), and Information Systems and Technologies (with its dean O.D. Sharapov).
Career
The Center "Perspectives" is part of the University, which was founded in 1999 with the purpose of working out close collaboration with employers and assisting the students and graduates of KNEU in the questions of employment.

My university is great for those who are willing to study economics profoundly. Also, a student is able to learn new languages with experienced teachers.

More than 36,000 students study in KNEU.Only in the main institution, they are taught by: 8 full and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and sectoral academies more than 127 professors and doctors of science 507 candidates of science and associate professors.

Library of the State-owned higher education establishment "Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economics University" (KNEU) has versatile library holdings, including educational, scientific, popular-science, periodical, reference, information and bibliographical publications in the Ukrainian, Russian and foreign languages (both on traditional and digital data carriers);

Campus life
Campus – a complex of student hostels with public catering enterprises, medical and consumer services, sports buildings and the adjacent territories. Campus is the state enterprise and structural division of the University performing independent activity.
The University also includes the Post-graduate Education Centre, the Master Training Centre, the Pre-university Training Department, the Instruction Centre, the Instruction Methodology Unit, the post-graduate and doctoral schools, Kryvyi Rih and Crimean Institutes of Economics, target-oriented lyceums and colleges, library and computer centres, a museum, a publishing office, KNEU's Culture and Arts Centre, etc.
Sports facilities
The Ekonomist Sports Centre has a stadium with two football fields, two tennis courts, a swimming pool, sports grounds, workout rooms, game rooms, an aerobics room, a boxing room, a combat fight room, a rehabilitation centre room. They provide favourable conditions for the pursuit of physical culture and sports for up to 1,000 students at a time.
Student clubs

- KNEU Student Tourist Club “Skify” – student public organization of Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University, created in order to: develop student tourism and furthering comprehensive harmonious development of students.
