"Gothenburg University College" was established in 1891 with the help of private donations. The first classes were held by seven professors teaching seven subjects to twenty-one students, four of whom were women.
We have around 70 courses taught in English in a variety of fields. We also offer a three-year programme in Software engineering.
If you know Swedish there are a large number of programmes and individual courses to choose from.
We offer around 50 international two-year Master's programmes in the fields of Social Sciences, Science, Business, IT, Educational Science, Health, Arts, Music, Fine Art and Design and Crafts.
We also offer around 250 individual courses that are taught in English.
In Sweden, doctoral programmes imply four years of full-time studies. You apply for a doctoral position and are then employed by the University during your four years of study.

You can contact your local IT technician via Service Desk.You can turn to Akademihälsan with any health problems you may have during your studies. Akademihälsan is the students’ occupational health service. It acts as a complement to other health and medical services. It is free for students.
