Great environment
Lancaster University Leipzig is one of a few English speaking schools in Leipzig. The environment of the school is very welcoming and it's very diverse. Everyone, including the staff, are absolutely awesome. There are so many opportunities here, you can learn german if you can't really speak and learn different cultures because of the diversity of the school. I made a right choice coming here.

Housing services
Accommodation is one of the most important decisions you will make after university and subject. It's vital that you feel happy and safe in your new home.
After accepting your Unconditional Offer, you will be referred to the accommodation team. This team provides a wide variety of price and location options, to suit individual needs. They will talk you through the information, answer questions and help to overcome any concerns.
In Leipzig, there is a combination of public and private accommodation options available. These are spread across the city and we can advise on the options that are located near the campus, or in the heart of the city centre - there's an option to suit you.
Medical services
In Germany, all students must have sufficient health insurance covering the following services:
- medical and dental treatment
- supply of pharmaceuticals, wound dressings, therapeutic and aid products
- hospital treatment
- medical services for rehabilitation
- services during pregnancy and birth
Sports facilities
In Leipzig, there are about 242 gyms and sports halls. The majority of them are managed by the city and so accessible to all for a fee. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to meet with friends and play sport, as well as join a sports club or society.
Leipzig has many opportunities for doing water sports. If you are interested in sailing, diving, windsurfing or rowing then visit one of Leipzig's lakes.
