About

Education

Students at our Faculty of Science and Health develop the skills to address global issues and benefit people, the environment and society. They are learning from scientists who are working on vital issues including the nature of ageing, the meaning of genes, the future of the internet and the survival of coral reefs and climate change.

Research

The Faculty of Science and Health has around 200 academic staff, publishing about 700-peer reviewed papers and other publications per year, and over £10 million in research income. Our research is funded by bodies including the EU, EPSRC, NERC, the Wellcome Trust and national and local charities. Research is based in departments and centres, with Research Directors leading on support for early career researchers.

Career

Each department has designated staff to help students with careers.  Support is also available from the University's Employability and Careers Centre, which organises a range of events throughout the year, and can offer students professional one-to-one advice and guidance on jobs related to their degree. We offer support each step of the way through focused job searching, making effective applications and preparing for interviews.
