About

History

Founded in 2017 as part of the European University Institute, the School of Transnational Governance brings the worlds of academia and policy-making together in an effort to navigate a context, both inside and outside Europe, where policy-making increasingly transcends national borders.

Education

The STG offers Executive Training Seminars for experienced professionals and a Policy Leaders Fellowship for early- and mid-career innovators. The School has recently launched its Young African Leaders Programme, design to allow policy experts from Africa to further their skill set among experts. The STG also host expert Policy Dialogues and is conducting an Oral History project to record the experiences of European Institution presidents.

Career

The STG's focus on developing key professional skills through specific training sessions and internships, prepares students for a number of careers working across borders, cultures and national interests.

Our graduates are trained to take on a variety of leadership positions in the global sector, such as multinational firms (i.e.: public communication and corporate responsibility units), NGOs,  and national administrations and organisations. Some examples include business associations, the lower-level government and administration and trade unions and lobbying groups increasingly affected by international issues.
