UPES was established in the year 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. With an ambitious vision and unique approach, UPES emerged as an innovative institution offering industry-focused specialised undergraduate and postgraduate courses, some of which cater to high-growth areas like cloud computing, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and so on.

My experience studying at university of people
University of people is a tuition-free university.The University allows individuals to study anytime ,everywhere as its an online school with flexible mode of study.i liked how the instructors work hand in hand with students for their educational success. It's easy to learn about school resources and easy to adapt.
Great
It is an excellent university with a lot of events and opportunities. It not only focuses on academics, but also on extra-curricular activities as well. We are exposed into the world, with various hackathons and events gaining real time exposure to the business world.
My Bachelor's experience
It is an evolving programme that helped me identify my interests and learn about the laws and application of laws in India along with comparative studies of different law systems. I've studied various acts and subjects which have helped me build an understanding of law and the jurisprudence around it. A combination of practical and theory knowledge would have made the course more suitable for me.

Student services
International Student Cell functions as a part of the Department of International Affairs ( DIA)|in UPES. UPES is proud to be associated with 22 nationalities across the globe for incoming and outgoing students. We welcome students on year exchange, semester exchange, internships, and Projects.
The International office supports the student’s movements and is committed to provide excellent support to make the international study experience smooth for both incoming and outgoing students.
Housing services
Modern, state of the art living spaces for 2000+ students. There are private hostels around the campus. Best residential facilities, conducive to comfortable living and learning.
Food courts with a menu that includes various exciting cuisines and some healthy dishes.
Library services
The UPES Library, with its wide range of collection of knowledge resources and innovative information services, fills an essential requisite in the intellectual pursuits of our students, faculty and the surrounding community. UPES Library, a hybrid Centre with the state-of-the-art technological applications holds knowledge resources predominantly related to engineering, science & technology, etc.
ICT services
UPES helps students stay connected with each other, the faculty as well as the admins through online portals. These help the students stay informed and get help and support from anyone at UPES at any time.
Medical services
The University provides the students a well equipped First-aid support in the Infirmary, It’s also equipped with Ambulance evacuation for the students. There are two male and two female doctors to provide medical support to the students.
Campus life
UPES has a sprawling 44-acre campus in the lush and verdant environs of Dehradun. The university takes pride in offering its students a world-class academic infrastructure, multimedia-enabled classrooms, modern research labs, playing fields, food courts, hostels and facilities for curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Student clubs
The UPES Alumni Association represents the interests of UPES graduates worldwide. The association is committed to keeping its alumni informed, involved and invested in the alumni community and the future of UPES. Working closely with the University, the association offers communications, events, benefits and services for its current and future alumni.
