Established in 2006, the Center for Lifelong Learning (C3L) has been a leader in Germany’s continuing higher education sector through its use of innovative teaching and learning formats such as online and blended learning and in the development and application of prior learning assessment and recognition (PLAR) procedures and guidelines.
C3L's continuing education programmes are developed in close collaboration with the University's research institutes. As a scientific center that both researches and teaches innovation in new teaching and learning methods, C3L offers professional expertise in the latest educational and technological developments. C3L’s MTEL programme has a close affiliation with the University’s Center for Open Education Research (COER), and many of the COER members teach in the programme. As a direct benefit of this collaboration, the MTEL programme is able to incorporate both the professional expertise and the latest groundbreaking research in the field into its courses.
Based on a systems view of education, the Master in the Management of Technology Enhanced Learning (MTEL) programme will prepare you to strategise and organise for technology integration and transformation within all components of the educational system and across the student life cycle. The programme will equip you with the necessary competences and skills for the planning, development, implementation and support of distance learning and technology-supported learning programmes. Career prospects include positions such as e-learning training analyst, programme manager or director, IT business analyst, multimedia e-learning developer, instructional designer/training technologist, and technical trainer.
