University Ranking

QS World University Rankings by TopUniversities
QS World University Rankings is one of the top international rankings measuring the popularity and performance of universities all over the world.

Student services

The International Department along with the International Student Department take care of all the international applicants and full-time students studying at RSU in the various programmes.

Additionally, our Erasmus Office deals with academic exchange, ensuring mobility of staff and students alike. Students have the opportunity to participate not only in Erasmus exchange, but also Nordplus, and acquire scholarships through our partners, e.g. DAAD.

Through participation in various international programmes and networks, we have partners in many countries and over 80 universities.

Housing services

As in many other European cities, the demand for reasonably priced accommodation options is very high, and therefore student housing facilities are limited. At the same time, the city’s private rental market is considerably cheaper than that in other European cities, and therefore is rather appealing to international students studying at RSU.

In general, upon their arrival in Riga, students choose to stay in hotels or hostels, and only then do they start looking for long-term accommodation options. When choosing where to live, many factors should be considered, the various districts of Riga being one of the most important ones.

Library services

The aim of RSU Library is to provide the University with resources that would help carry out qualitative and competitive academic and professional education as well as research work in the fields of medicine, public health and social sciences by organising and improving the utilities of the Library and introducing the latest information technologies.

Medical services

If you do not wish to see the student doctor, feel free to visit other healthcare institutions or private clinics in Riga.

We suggest the two companies listed below, but you can ask other students or the staff of the Department of Academic and Foreign Affairs.

You should note that there is no unified price system for private doctors and you should probably make some enquiries first.

Student Life

Campus life

Following best practices of the world’s top universities, Riga Stradinš University (RSU) has recently commenced an ambitious plan to enhance the university campus at 16 Dzirciema Street.

The plan includes the construction of several buildings around its main complex and modernisation of RSU facilities, thus improving the landscape for the benefit of RSU students, staff and local community.

For the construction of the new campus and the attraction of human resources, EU's funding for the development of higher education and research infrastructure will be used, thus creating new workplaces and export-capable research products and education at the global level.

Student clubs

The International Students' Association (ISA) is a non-profit student voluntary organisation for students by students. It is designed to help promote integration and a school spirit among International students as well as Latvian students of Riga Stradinš University. We also aim to provide opportunities for students to apply and develop their talents, skills, and interests.

It was and still is an interesting time of my life but everything at RSU feels distant because we arent located in one campus, we just show up to class and then leave. We havent had one group gathering when everyone shows up, so it doesnt feel like we are in this together.
