Architecture and sustainability

Studying architecture at my university has been a challenging but very rewarding experience for me. Over time, I have not only improved my technical skills, but also developed a much stronger understanding of space, design, and how ideas come together in a coherent concept. What I appreciate most is the balance between creative freedom and structured learning. In many projects, I was able to explore my own ideas and develop them further, while still receiving helpful and honest feedback from professors. This support helped me improve continuously, especially towards the final stages of each project. The facilities at the university are very good, and the dedicated campus for the architecture faculty creates a strong sense of community. There is an open and supportive atmosphere, where students from higher semesters are approachable and willing to help. The exchange between different year groups is encouraged, which makes it easier to learn and grow. I also gained valuable experience working with digital tools like Vectorworks. In the beginning, it was challenging, but over time I became more confident using it, which significantly improved both my workflow and the way I develop and present my designs. Another positive aspect is the practice-oriented approach of the program, combined with a well-balanced mix of theory and application. The curriculum also addresses current topics such as sustainable design and responsible use of resources, which I consider highly relevant for the future of architecture. The feedback from professors is mostly constructive and helps to refine ideas and improve results. Looking back, I can clearly see how much I have improved over time, both in design and presentation. Overall, my studies have helped me become more confident in my ideas and more precise in communicating them. I feel motivated to continue developing my skills and to take the next steps in my academic and professional journey, ideally in an international context.

HTW Saar: Small Classes, Big Impact

HTW University of Applied Sciences is a great place if you're looking to dive into the business or tech world. The business school is on the smaller side, which I actually really like because it makes everything more personal and friendly. You really get to know your classmates and professors, and the professors are super approachable—they really want to see you succeed. Everything is super organized too. All the class materials you need are on Moodle, so you can always find what you need without any hassle. Some courses even have extra videos that explain things in a way that's easy to understand, which is a huge plus if you need a little extra help. The university is pretty well-respected by local companies, so having a degree from HTW can really open doors for you in both business and technical fields. It's a solid choice if you're aiming to kick-start your career in the area. All in all, HTW offers a supportive and effective learning environment that really prepares you for the real world.
