History
- 1906 - Alfred Wachtel founded the "Technikum Konstanz", a private engineering school that offered majors in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
Education
HTWG Konstanz offers numerous attractive courses of study for undergraduate studies as well as postgraduate studies and MBAs. "I would never change coming here for my BA studies"
HTWG Konstanz is a great university in a great general surrounding. HTWG offers a wide range of study programs and people/professors are always helpful. As the HTWG is rather small, it is more like a "family atmosphere" where students and professors are able to work close to each other. But besides the university, it is especially Konstanz as a city which makes studying here special. Konstanz is a beautiful city with lots of things to do! It is easy to get to know other students, also in an international context. There are many partying offers, great bars and restaurants and of course the beautiful lake scenery that stands out. Besides, HTWG Konstanz is perfectly located next to the lake / river and close to the city center. I would never change coming here for my BA studies.

Konstanz is a city with an extraordinarily high living quality. The city and its surroundings are popular not only with students, but also with families and outdoor enthusiasts. Since both Switzerland and Lake Constance border Konstanz, the available living space is limited and not always inexpensive. To consider all available housing options in Konstanz, it is important to begin your search for accommodation as early as possible.

University sports provides opportunities for university members (including researchers) to take part in many kinds of traditional and trend sports. To take part, simply register online on the university sports pages. We recommend registering at the beginning of the semester since some courses are very popular and fill up quickly.The university’s own fitness centre Unimotion provides you with individual advice and assistance with using a variety of equipment and training programmes. You can register during opening hours.
