We believe smaller is better. Our small size it the reason we are able to give each one of our students a big university experience full of opportunity.

History

The origin of St. Thomas University dates back to 1910. At that time, the Most Reverend Thomas F. Barry, Bishop of Chatham, invited the Basilian Fathers of Toronto to assume charge of an institution in Chatham, New Brunswick, providing education for boys at the secondary and junior college levels. The institution was called St. Thomas College.

Fast three‑year online degree

I enjoy the school and have never had any issues during my journey. Yes I would recommend this school to others. Future students I would just tell them to be sure that the school that is chosen is a good fit for what you are trying to do. I chose this school because of the length of time it was going to take to complete the degree program. It was advertised that the program could be completed in 3.5 years and that was accurate.

Student services

We believe career development is more than your major or a job. It involves your development as a whole person throughout your time at university and beyond. The Career Development Office helps students in any year navigate the career development process as they start, progress through, and complete their degrees

Housing services

To make sure your time in residence is a memorable experience, there are groups of residence leaders that live in the building. Residence advisors and house committee members work together to facilitate your transition to residence and support you during your time here.

Library services

Every year UNB Libraries hosts a (free) half-day Library Showcase to highlight new resources and services to St. Thomas University faculty. Presentations will include predatory publishers, new academic software and apps, and advice on research data management. Attendees will also have the opportunity to view the newly renovated study space on the 3rd floor.

ICT services

Research and analytical skills are among the most important skills required for this field of work. Writing and editing, as well as new media computer database skills are important to this field in today’s world.

Medical services

A medical clinic for full-time St. Thomas students is located at the third floor of Jones House on the UNB campus. Students may call the Student Health Centre for an appointment or visit during walk-in clinic hours held each weekday. Please remember to bring your student ID and Provincial Healthcare cards.

Campus life

Find a place to call home in one of our five residences—three located on our upper campus (Harrington Hall, Vanier Hall, and Holy Cross House), and two located on our lower campus (Rigby Hall and Chatham Hall) on Forest Hill Road, only a 12-minute walk away. Rigby and Chatham offer larger rooms and private bathrooms. Plus, when you don’t feel like walking, hop on the bus with your STU Bus Pass (included with tuition) and be home in 5 minutes!

Sports facilities

Designed to meet the varied interest of today’s exercise-conscious student, St. Thomas University’s Athletics programme reflects our concerns for the needs of the individual. The programme is organized for both men and women on the varsity, intramural, and sport club levels.

Student clubs

The St. Thomas University Students' Union strives to maintain and enhance the community of academic excellence, personal integrity, and mutual respect that is St. Thomas University. The SRC is the final authority for Union policy on all matters including finances, the constitution, and its bylaws. The SRC membership is elected by the students and seeks to represent the needs and interests of the students by providing student government and political representation, by organizing a variety of activities and services, and by funding and coordinating various student organizations

Accreditation

St. Thomas University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, masters, law, and doctorate degrees.
