About

History

  • Initially intended to train engineers for the industrial development of the North of France, the School has never ceased to adapt its teaching to new economic, societal and environmental challenges.
  • 1894 : birth of the Institute of Chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences; he competes for the License, and delivers a Certificate of Applied Chemistry open to free auditors

Education

The ENSCL offers 3 areas of study in the 3rd year of the engineering cycle: chemistry and sustainable processes for industry, formulation chemistry, optimization and reliability of materials.

  • Sustainable Chemistry And Processes For Industry
  • Formulation Chemistry
  • Optimization And Reliability Of Materials

Research

The ENSCL supervises two research laboratories associated with the CNRS: UCCS (Solid Catalysis and Chemistry Unit) and UMET (Materials and Transformation Unit).

  • materials for the energies of the future
  • materials with advanced and durable functions
  • formulations respectful of man and the environment

Career

The activity of the ENSCL engineer covers all branches of industry.

  • If chemistry , parachemistry , cosmetics and pharmaceuticals remain the first hiring sectors, many other fields offer career possibilities to our engineers: energy, environment, water, agrifood, metallurgy etc.
  • The skills of our graduates, their ability to innovate and build a sustainable future lead them to exercise a wide range of professions: research and development, quality , production , but also safety, marketing, advice, regulation, management, etc.

Student Reviews

Studying abroad: Make sure to pick the right university in the right city.
Anonymous rated 3 out of 5 stars

Studying in France has been a quite interesting experience so far, especially living in Lille, one of the most welcoming and intercultural cities in France and Europe. The tutors are professional, yet friendly, and the students’ backgrounds are so diverse. The atmosphere is welcoming as an overall.
