History
In 1966 Elizabeth Blodgett Hall founded Simon’s Rock based on the belief that many bright, motivated young people are ready for serious intellectual work at the age of 16 or 17.
Education
During and after class, you’ll get swept up in discussions with peers who share your commitment to intellectual curiosity. Along the way, you’ll develop an individualized plan of study that combines course work in your favorite subjects, world-expanding opportunities both on and off-campus, and, ultimately, the completion of your own senior thesis.
Career
Simon's Rock is already an established great name on the national educational map. Statistics show that a vast majority of the students who graduate here, go on to pursue superior levels of education at the most prestigious universities in the country. Also, the ones who choose to get a job after graduation are equally enhanced with solid knowledge that will ensure a fruitful career, irrespective of the domain.

Student services
We’re small, and that’s a good thing. With around 400 students, a truly comprehensive advising system that creates meaningful mentor relationships, and additional support resources, no student here is just a number, or a face in the crowd.
Library services
The University provides a well-equipped library where students can find all the necessary information for their studies, but also an online version where rarer books or articles can be accessed.
Campus life
Our home, Great Barrington, Massachusetts, as ranked by Smithsonian Magazine. It’s an easy walk or bike ride from campus. The 275 wooded campus is in the heart of the Berkshires, an area known for its natural beauty and rich cultural life.
Sports facilities
Whether you swim, play racquetball, practice yoga, rock climb, lift weights, or are into aerobic workouts—the Kilpatrick offers the resources and the support you need to enjoy life-long, integrated solutions to health and wellness. Kilpatrick membership is automatic for all Simon’s Rock students, staff, and faculty, and there are a variety of affordable membership options for community members.
Student clubs
We have a strong core of active student organizations—the literary journal, the jazz ensemble, the chamber orchestra, the multicultural students organization, the queer-straight alliance—and a long, changeable list of groups that depend on student interest and often grow into something big and important;
