University of the Sciences has prepared students to be leaders and practitioners in the healthcare and science fields for nearly 200 years. Key to its distinctive education is a tradition of hands-on research and experiential learning that is evident in every graduate who has walked its campus.
Since its founding in 1821 as Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, the first college of pharmacy in North America, USciences has grown to more than 30 degree-granting programs from bachelor’s through doctoral degrees in the health sciences, bench sciences, and healthcare business and policy fields.
The faculty and students of USciences engage in pioneering research spanning basic sciences such as biology, chemistry, nanotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences and physics to socio-behavioral, applied and clinical research. Our research efforts are an extension of the unique academic focus of USciences, to deliver life-saving insights into the causes and cures of chronic illnesses, and continuously improve our health care system.

The Office of Student Accommodations (OSA) has been designated by the University to assist students with diagnosed and documented disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), with accessing and participating in the educational, social, and professional opportunities available at USciences in accordance with federal laws and University obligations.
The J.W. England Library opens at 8 am each weekday when the University is in session. We close at midnight, Sunday through Thursday, 10 pm on Friday, and 8 pm on Saturday, with extended hours in the second half of the semester.
IT Services supports the computing needs of students, faculty and staff at USciences. IT Services offices are located in the basement of Griffith Hall.
The medical providers at the Student Health Center provide evaluation and treatment of common acute illnesses/conditions & injury evaluation which are not life-threatening; and recommendations for healthcare issues related to sexual health, health promotion and disease prevention.
The USciences campus is the perfect setting for the University's close-knit community of scholars of all ages. Nestled in the heart of University City, just west of Center City Philadelphia, the campus is bordered by the neighborhood’s stately, tree-lined streets and sits adjacent to sprawling, picturesque Clark Park.
Studying is hard work; you’re going to need to take breaks. Thanks to the Athletic/Recreation Center (ARC) and comprehensive intramural and fitness programs that provide just enough competition to blow off steam, you’ll be relaxed enough to hit the books again in no time.
The 78,000-square-foot ARC provides exercise and practice space for varsity and intramural sports as well as general recreational facilities. The facility, part of a $30 million campus expansion and beautification project, contains additional classrooms and staff offices; and space for student organizations to meet and for students to gather informally.
It was an eye opener having realised my dream of doing a bachelor's degree course in special needs education in my thirties. I had to weigh between my family, work and education. Of which i managed to scoop an upper second class honours. Given the chance and privilege i will work hard for my masters and PHD in my field of expertise.
