History
Founded in 1950 as one of the first universities of P. R. China, Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU) enjoys a longstanding reputation of excellence in China. Our legacy of providing globally relevant, practical education shapes our future as one of the world universities with world-class disciplines.
Education
There are 9 schools and 1 department in BTBU now that providing 16 master’s degree authorization first-grade disciplines, 19 professional master’s degree authorization disciplines, 45 undergraduate programs and 2 doctoral programs.

My study experience at Beijing Jiaotong University
Studying at Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) has been a transformative journey. From the moment I arrived on campus, I was struck by the university�s strong academic environment, well-structured programs, and commitment to research and innovation. As an international student, adjusting to a new academic and cultural setting was challenging, but BJTU provided the necessary support to help me integrate smoothly. One of the key aspects that stood out during my time at BJTU was the quality of instruction. The faculty members are highly knowledgeable, with extensive academic and industry experience. They bring a blend of theoretical and practical insights into the classroom, making learning more engaging and applicable to real-world scenarios. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of complex subjects, especially in urban planning. Beyond academics, BJTU offered strong support for international students, from language programs to administrative assistance, making my transition smoother. Living in Beijing also added to the experience, exposing me to a dynamic city with a rich cultural heritage and efficient infrastructure. Despite the initial language barrier, I adapted over time and gained a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture. My time at BJTU has not only strengthened my academic foundation but also prepared me for future professional challenges.

Housing services
In 2013, BTBU opened up a new building as dormitory for International Students on campus. There are totally 120 en-suit rooms. And the room is equipped with television, electronic kettle, air conditioner, etc. Each floor has one meeting room and one kitchen which equipped with refrigerator, induction cooker, microwave, oven, etc. And there are two laundry rooms in the building with washing machines and dryers.
Student clubs
In BTBU, there will be colorful cultural activities for International Students. All of these activities enrich the students’ campus life and develop their comprehensive qualities, and provide opportunities for them to communicate with Chinese local students.
