History
Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT) was established in 1951 and used to be the Meteorological Training Brigade for Southwest Air Force of People Liberation Army. It was renamed Chengdu School of Meteorology in 1956 and Chengdu Institute of Meteorology in 1978 under the direct administration of China Meteorological Bureau.
Education
CUIT has taken the initiative in China to introduce and carry out CDIO engineering education framework in all disciplines of university. We focus on training students' practical ability in our teaching and education. Especially, we have cultivated talents for meteorological industry, information technology, and statistics industry.
