Over the past decade the ICD has grown to become one of Europe's largest independent cultural exchange organizations, hosting programs that facilitate interaction among individuals of all cultural, academic, and professional backgrounds, from across the world.



Founded in 1999, the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy is an international, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization with headquarters in Berlin, Germany and the USA. The ICD´s ultimate goal is to promote global peace and stability by strengthening and supporting intercultural relations at all levels.


The Center for Cultural Diplomacy Studies offers educational and academic programs in partnership with leading universities, enabling students to explore, analyze and experience cultural diplomacy both in theory and in practice. The CCDS focuses in particular on exploring the balancing between hard and soft power, the process of globalization in an interdependent world, international economics & business multiculturalism, intercultural dialogue & exchange, human rights, religion. As a whole, they investigate the ability for culturally based initiatives to further mutual understanding and in turn to foster global peace and stability.


The major objectives of the ICD are to extend current research, programs and practices in the field of cultural diplomacy and create a platform to promote and sustain inter-cultural dialogue at all levels. The ICD actively encourages and supports cultural diplomacy as an academic discipline.

The CCDS is committed to the promotion and development of applied cultural diplomacy studies, as well as excellence in the advancement and research in this rapidly evolving field.


Professional Development training Program - During the Professional Developmenttraining program, students will be able to create and implement their own events and programs on Cultural Diplomacy. This professional experience will allow students the opportunity to immediately apply the knowledge they have gained in the in the professional world. This also provides valuable relevant professional experience, contacts and relationships that can assist students in preparing for their future careers..

Housing services

Finding somewhere to live is usually at the top of the list of priorities for new students and can be the cause of lots of unnecessary stress and concern. University ResidencesA limited number of places are reserved for students at the University Residences owned by the Azienda Regionale per il Diritto allo Studio (Regional Office for the Right to Higher Education). Almost all of the rooms are twin rooms with 2 beds.

The University of Siena, located in Siena, Tuscany, is one of the oldest universities in Italy and, as such, has a rich and intriguing history. Founded in 1240, it is in fact thanks to the university that many of the city's historically important buildings were not lost, as they became used for study spaces and faculty departments. Since its founding, the University of Siena has grown to become home to over 20,000 students and schools dedicated to a variety of fields including Engineering, Economics, Humanities, Philosophy, and Political Science.


The CCDS Degree Programs operate under a joint partnership between the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy and leading European universities. The Degrees are all awarded by the Universities, which are recognized as fully accredited institutions of higher education with the right to award university degrees, are part of the Bologna Process set in place by the European Commission.
