Student services

The college Student Experience Support Workers (SESW) are based on every campus and are there to support learners through their time at college. If they are having difficulties in or out of college, the SESW provide a high level of support through one to ones and relevant referrals to external agencies. The SESW team also provide safeguarding support when needed. You can find out more information on our Student Support pages.

Housing services

  • Although there are dozens of providers of accommodation in the Manchester area, along with many private landlords advertising their properties independently, we strongly recommend that you use Manchester Student Homes for your housing needs.
  • Manchester Student Homes offer lots of useful services. All landlords that they approve must meet a code of standards set up by the organisation. They can check your housing contract before you sign to make sure everything’s legal and up to current standards. And as well as housing advice and support, they may even be able to act for you in the unlikely event of any problems down the line.

Library services

Libraries are the place to go for:

  • books and e-books
  • journals and magazines
  • DVDs and CDs
  • online resources
  • technology to help you learn
  • advice about what resources to use for your course
  • IT access
  • printing and photocopying
  • university prospectuses
  • careers guides

Medical services

We have partnered with the addiction treatment experts at UKAT. They provide detailed information, signs and symptoms, coping strategies and treatment options across for all types of addictions, from eating disorders, cannabis, alcohol and cocaine misuse through to how to help someone struggling with gaming, gambling and overusing the internet or social media.

Campus life

Whatever your age or course, we can help advise you on accommodation in the city. The Manchester College does not have it’s own accommodation, but our partnership with Manchester Student Homes can help you find somewhere to live in the area and provide you with support if you any issues after moving in.

Sports facilities

  • We’re passionate about fitness and wellbeing, which is why you’ll find lots of different sporting sessions across our campuses, covering everything from badminton to yoga, Zumba to boxing, and circuit training to softball.
  • From introductory activities to advanced sessions, there’s something for everyone. We’ve even got two special sports programmes: our Talented Athlete Support Programme (TASP) is ideal for those striving for their full potential in a sport, and our Enhancing Student Employability Programme (ESEP) gives you the chance to volunteer with sports activities and even earn some great qualifications!

Student clubs

  • If sports aren’t really your thing, don’t worry. We’ve got a whole host of clubs and societies for you to get involved with, whether you’re new to the hobby or a passionate fan already.
  • Photography society, LGBTQ+ society, Tech club, and Creative Networking society are just a few examples of the opportunities available here, and you’ll also be able to get involved with organising and performing in music, drama and fashion shows! And if there isn’t a society for your hobby, why not create your own?

Accreditation

The College holds Investors in People (IiP) Silver accreditation. Investors in People is a framework for business improvement through people.
