Siberian State Aerospace University

On September 1st 1960, the first 200 students began to be trained in three fields: production of aircrafts, aircraft engines, and systems for automated aircraft management. E. N. Kapustyansky was appointed as the director of the higher technical school.

The University currently trains students for a wide range of specialties: 32 Bachelor's degree and Specialist's degree programs designed to meet the needs of the space and high-tech industries. SibSAU is also one of the universities which trains specialists and scientific staff for state defense.

Recent years have seen a significant development in the Master's degree programs offered by the University. There are now 43 Master's degree programs in 15 areas.

Today SibSAU is home to Russian and foreign scientific and training schools, famous all over the country and abroad, in:

• information and space systems development;

• algorithms and software development;

• conception of power supply systems for space vehicles and integrated on-board complexes for the management of rocket and space vehicles;

• modeling, power circuit projection and testing, propulsion devices, and temperature control systems;

• research and development of nanotechnology devices;

• physics of multifunctional nanostructured materials in rocket and space vehicles;

• the economics and organization of enterprises in the rocket and space industries, integrated structures, and others.
