More than 35 years training professionals to improve the society's well-being. BAU, Art and Design College, was founded in 1989. In 2009, BAU is a pioneering centre by offering university-level studies in the form of the Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees in Design. In 2019, BAU implementats the Ph.D in Design and Communication Programme. In 2021 BAU offers official Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts.

Bau has a Bar/Café managed by a private company under concession that offers a café and catering service. It also has a microwave for the exclusive use of students, members of the TRP (Teaching and Research personnel) and the Administration and Services personnel of Bau.

Campus life
The BAU campus consists of three buildings in the Poblenou district of Barcelona. With over 10,000 m2 of facilities for training in design and fine arts which are constantly being improved and adapted with studios, workshops, ateliers and polyvalent and research spaces.
Workshops are the centre of learning at BAU. Teaching in arts and design is based on active methodologies through practice and experimentation with materials, techniques, and technologies. They cover a multitude of areas such as sewing and pattern making, graphic production, screen printing, drawing, painting, sculpture, digital fabrication, material experimentation, interactive technologies, photography, and video.
Student clubs
BAU has many internal student associations divided by the different specializations offered by the college. Such as Graphics, Interiors, Fashion, Audiovisual and Arts student's communities that develop internal and external activities along the culture of Creative Arts.

The academic offer is made up of the oficial Bachelor's Degree in Design and Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts (1st cycle), the official University Master's Degree (2nd cycle), Master's Degrees and Postgraduate Degrees (university’s own degrees)) and BAU/UVic-UCC's Doctoral Programme in Design and Communication (3rd cycle).
