Campus life

Wits is taking the lead in reimagining trendy Braamfontein to further our contribution towards delivering high level scarce skills for the global knowledge economy.

Our location in Johannesburg, the economic and industrial heartland of the continent, places us in good stead to interact with the public and private sectors, civil society and other social agents to effect meaningful change in society.

Sports facilities

Wits Sport works closely with the student-elected Wits Sport Council (WSC) to design and offer our services and programmes to students, staff and alumni, and generally to offer sport lovers at Wits a vibrant sporting culture.

We provide the university community with opportunities to participate in a range of sports codes at the level they choose, while contributing to enhancing Wits' sporting prowess. We work to encourage the entire Wits community to see health, fitness and being physically active as a way of life.

The menu on the left will take you through the many aspects of our work. For a sense of the Witsie sporting gees (spirit) check out the video below of the fun 2016 freshers' Welcome Day.
