Founded by the Texas Legislature in 1969, UTSA was commissioned as a university of the first class. Today, UTSA is an emerging urban serving research institution with nearly 31,000 students, nine colleges and three campuses.

Student services

The UTSA UTSA Student Union Information Center is located on the first floor of the UTSA Student Union North, outside the UTSA Bookstore. If you are lost or have any questions, please stop by and let us assist you. We can provide updates on events happening in and around the UTSA Student Union, answer questions and assist with directions, as well as provide a variety of services and resources.

Medical services

UTSA directs many resources toward the safety and well-being of our community. In addition to student resources, we have assembled information so that faculty, staff, friends and family members also are aware of the university's mental health resources.

Sports facilities

The University of Texas at San Antonio Recreation Wellness Center is nearly 185,000 square feet of indoor recreation space and houses a wide variety of programs and facilities including: multi-use courts, a demonstration kitchen, massage studio, an aquatics center, racquetball courts, fitness areas, group exercise studios and locker/shower rooms.

Students come to the UTSA Student Union to engage in unique social, recreational, cultural and educational activities. It's an inviting and inclusive environment where students exchange ideas, build relationships and make memories.
