Hochschule Kempten - University of Applied Sciences

Kempten University of Applied Sciences is a cosmopolitan university in Allgäu, southern Germany, which offers applied, interdisciplinary, international and pioneering higher education courses. We strive to offer a diverse and in-depth range of degree programmes in the fields of science, engineering and the social and health sector, and to be a place where students take joy in their studies and academic and other staff take joy in their work.

Kempten University of Applied Sciences was established in 1978 with 82 students in a rented building. While the accession of Pope John Paul II, the first balloon crossing of the Atlantic and the last VW Beetle to be manufactured in Germany were making the national and international headlines, the breaking news in Allgäu was the new university and its ambitious target of 1.000 students.
