The Higher School of Trade, Higher School of Economics, and the Wroclaw University of Economics are the subsequent names assumed by the private school of higher education formed in 1947 and nationalized in 1950. The founding fathers of The Higher School of Trade established an extension to the tradition of the Lvov Academy of Foreign Trade.
The educational system at WUE follows the requirements of the Bologna declaration. We offer 3-years study at Bachelor level and 2-years study at Master level. We has also PhD program for 4 years and more than 60 postgraduate studies in Polish and English.Wroclaw University of Economics provides fields of study as follow: Economics, Finance and Accounting, Informatics and Econometrics, International Economics Relations, Business Informatics, Management, Management and Productions Engineering, Economic Analytics, European Studies, Logistics, Spatial Economy and Tourism. The students can choose from 40 specializations within the range of courses offered by the faculties.
The Wroclaw University of Economics owns development centers, which process research and scientific analyzes related to various economic aspects. One of them that is worth mentioning is the Academic Research and Development Center BioR&D, which is an organizational part of the Wroclaw University of Economics, an institution entitled to issue opinions on innovation for the entrepreneurs who apply for subsidies within the European Union projects, investment loans, and introduce modern machines and technologies.The structures of our University include also Academic Center of Business Innovation (ACIB), which functions within the activity areas related to modern concepts, methods, and tools of management.
Wroclaw University of Economy has rich and long-term tradition of cooperation with business practice. The Alumni of our University can be met in most of the production or trading companies, banks, tax agencies and offices. They very often occupy there managerial positions or run successfully their own businesses. They easily adjust to the changing work conditions.
Many alumni, also from different universities, use the opportunity to supplement their education on postgraduate studies at our University. The cooperation between WUE with the economic environment takes many various forms and actions.
Curricula realized in the University include foundation subjects, general and specialist subjects and ensure full complementarily with other European universities curricula, which enables our students to participate in academic exchange and to study abroad as a part of their course. Foreign graduates are accepted here to complete their bachelor, master and doctoral degrees.The University offers free Polish language courses for the exchange students. The courses are provided during each semester and have two levels for the student to choose: beginners and intermediate. The course content will also help you to get acquainted with the Polish culture.
The Wroclaw University of Economics has two, located on campus, student’s houses, which offer altogether 1200 spots. The houses have television rooms, pool and ping pong tables, gym, reading rooms, study rooms, bike sheds, self-service laundry rooms and kitchens. The buildings are surrounded by territory where students can make grills, organize cultural events, or summer cinema. The student’s houses are also neighboring with a volleyball pitch, swimming pool, ice rink, tennis courts, and a park.
The library offers access to traditional as well as digital collections, wireless Internet, and complex scientific and economic information for students and employees of the WUE as well as everybody interested. It is located in two buildings on the campus venue.
The University puts a lot of emphasis on furnishings of the lecture rooms and laboratories. The lecture rooms are equipped with multimedia projectors and computers enabling usage of modern presentation techniques during lectures, which is necessary to be able to teach at the highest level, and to present the projects prepared by students. Currently we own 420 computer terminals in classes.
Medical insurance is obligatory for all foreign students. To be eligible, please bring your European Health Insurance Card (non UE students).You must enquire in your country what type of insurance will be the best during your stay in Poland. The most comfortable option will be this kind of insurance which will allow you to get a refund for medical treatment.
The cosy campus of the Wroclaw University of Economis is located in the green neighborhood of Wroclaw close to the city center, working in favor of integration of the environment and common initiatives.
The buildings of the University, student’s houses, sports centers, bookstore and library are placed next to each other thanks to which our students do not have to move around other parts of the city. The campus is neighboring with a big Aquapark, shopping centers, cinema, or bus and train stations.The University has at its disposal 23 buildings located on one campus, while classes are held in 13 of them. The University has at its disposal 90 lecture and laboratory rooms, which include 6200 seats for students.
Apart from studying, students have at their disposal sports infrastructure belonging to a Sport and Physical Education Study operating within the University. The Study holds classes in twenty sports disciplines. They include: aerobics, badminton, basketball, handball, football, volleyball, swimming, weight training, tennis, ping pong, floorball, rock climbing, ballroom dancing, bicycle tourism, triathlon, horse riding, athletics, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating.The Study has modern sports facilities which consist in two sports halls, aerobics room, indoor climbing hall, gym, rehabilitation room, and indoor swimming pool.
Student Government of Wroclaw University od Economics plays vital and leading role among student organizations at out university. The main goal of the Student Government is constant help and support for all students of Wroclaw University of Economics. Moreover, Student Government members are a group of young, active people who create many projects like: "Ekonomalia" (the UE students festival which lasts 3 days and offers numerous amusements), "Adapciak" (camp for new students, which gives them vital information how to start student life) or "Mosty Ekonomiczne" (possibility to study at the other University of Economics in Poland for few Days).
