Hands‑on Belgian study culture

A good Uni for International Students. It is very immersed into Belgium culture. Had a very good hands on approach to studying and includes areas such as life long learning aimed at a continuous growth in your personal life.

Time to upgrade some facilities

I must say, I have no complaints about the quality of education. The lecturers are knowledgeable professionals who have a deep understanding of their courses and the field. However, I do believe that the campus could use some improvements. There are several areas that could benefit from additional resources and attention, such as the location, transportation options, and food choices.

Student services

The Office of Student Support (Stuvo for short) helps you with almost everything. Only studying and taking exams is something you still have to do yourself. You can always come to us if you need financial support to pay for your studies, psychological or medical assistance, or have questions about renting a room in Ghent.

Stuvo is your confidential point of contact. No question or concern is too big or too small. Is it not yet clear what you need? Then, we can explore this together. Our 'ombudsperson' is there for all your questions concerning education and exam regulations, the fair proceedings of exams or what to do when you miss an exam.

Housing services

Artevelde University offers student housing in Ghent, including four university-owned houses and collaboration with Upgrade Estate for additional options. The university manages Bagatten House, Savaan House, Jeruzalem House, and Poort House, ensuring a pleasant living environment. Meanwhile, Baudelo Upkot, Bro Upkot, and Ter Plaeten Upkot are managed by Upkot, offering a unique concept. All rooms come furnished with essentials, and students can apply for housing from May, making sure that all students have a chance to apply for a room, irrespective of their time zone. Applications after May are waitlisted, following a "First come, first serve" approach.

Library services

Artevelde UAS has five media libraries where you'll find a lot of information and knowledge. Books, DVDs, games, educational material: whatever you need, the media library staff will help you find it. You can do research and write a paper or your thesis. In addition, there are some quiet corners for studying.

ICT services

Internet access is provided on campus for all students. Depending on which campus students study at, computers are made available in dedicated areas or libraries, to use for study work. We also have a service desk that students can contact if they encounter issues with their laptop, lockers, etc. These staff members go the extra mile to assist students as effectively as possible.

Medical services

As a student in Ghent, you can always go to a doctor at the Ghent University medical service for students. You can make an appointment at the Advisory Centre for Students reception. If you need urgent medical assistance, call the City of Ghent's central waiting number on a weeknight, holiday or weekend: 1733.

Campus life

Artevelde UAS is spread out over several campuses in Ghent, and you will also find us in Sint-Amandsberg, Mariakerke and Oudenaarde. Our largest campus, Campus Kantienberg, is in the middle of the student district, full of trendy catering establishments and large parks. With a modern media library, several relaxation areas and its own student restaurant, 'De Kantiene', this campus is completely tailored to our students. Campus Leeuwstraat is within walking distance of Campus Kantienberg. Need to relax during a break or enjoy an afternoon picnic? The beautiful Muinkpark is just across the road.

Sports facilities

Artevelde University of Applied Sciences has its own multifunctional sports hall, at campus Watersportbaan. In the adjoining exercise room, dance room, judo room or fitness room, you can let off steam daily. Or train your climbing skills on our equipped climbing wall. You will also find many classrooms, changing rooms, showers and other facilities. In short, a top environment for our sportiest students!

Student clubs

Artevelde International Club is a club for both international and Belgian students enrolled in business studies. Join to meet new people and do fun activities. The community aims to close the gap between Belgian and international students, and bring people together and learn about each other’s cultures and countries. Go follow them on Instagram @arteveldeinternationalclub!

The SDG Corner (Green Office) is a place where students get informed about the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.

Idea Factory is for anyone who wants to develop an idea in any form. It’s where students with an entrepreneurial mindset can look for guidance in the process of starting their own company or structuring their innovative ideas.
