About

History

Founded in 1901 as St. Clara College in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin; relocated to River Forest, Illinois in 1922 and renamed Rosary College; expanded to become Dominican University in 1997.

Education

We offer hundreds of avenues at the undergraduate and graduate levels to explore career interests and experience diverse cultures and international environments. And we organize and support 60-plus projects and learning experiences that contribute effectively to the good of local and global communities.

Research

The mission of research and creativity is to encourage Dominican students to embrace lives of rigorous inquiry and meaningful self-expression outside the boundaries of the classroom. A new unit for the Academic Enrichment Center (AEC), research and creativity pursues the strategic priority of Dominican University to build and support programs that foster students' creative investigations and provide them opportunities to engage in collaborative research.  The office will work to foster students with creative confidence, strong habits of mind and distinct voices as authors, scholars and artists.

Career

At Dominican, career development isn't just an office or a center. It's a process that begins day one of your time here.

Our aim is to see every student and develop a four-year plan incorporating everything from career interests to academic courses, internships, volunteer opportunities and a variety of other experiences to help them become great employees.

Now more than ever, the job market requires new college graduates to be prepared. Not only are new grads competing with their peers for jobs, but in many cases with individuals who already have workforce experience. That’s why Dominican's Office of Career Development is focused on getting students ready for the real world.

Great school academically, but a social struggle
Anonymous rated 4 out of 5 stars

I think the the school has a lot to offer, but due to the size it is a bit more like a high school environment. However the opportunities here are unparalleled when it comes to professional development.
