About

The Chicago School's online programs enable students with full-time work or family commitments to obtain a graduate education and achieve their personal and professional goals—without putting their current lives on hold.

A number of our programs are taught predominantly online with a small "synchronous virtual residency" component (a one- or two-hour session each term in which all students are expected to be online simultaneously), while other programs are offered in a "blended" format that combines both online and on-campus learning. Coursework is offered through Canvas -- an advanced interactive distance-learning tool--and is designed to be flexible, self-paced, and accessible. Building on our long tradition of producing outstanding psychology practitioners, our online programs combine the quality of a Chicago School education with the convenience that you need today.

  • Earn your graduate degree from a non-profit, accredited graduate school of psychology.
  • Learn from practitioner faculty with significant real-world experience and expertise in their respective fields, who provide practical mentorship.
  • Receive ongoing support from your personal Student Advisor, who will work with you from the day you enroll until the day you graduate.
  • Experience dynamic and engaging content through video conferencing and podcasts--tools implemented in many TSCPP classes---where you'll engage in real-time conversation and learn to express thoughts succinctly and confidently to a diverse group of peers.
  • Enjoy peace of mind using our online technology, knowing you can rely on caring staff through 24/7 helpline.
  • Become part of a supportive online student community where you can network with fellow classmates, receive valuable insight, and discuss thought-provoking topics via SocialCourse--a sophisticated instant messenger and social networking tool dedicated to building an online learning community.
  • Receive valuable feedback through Turnitin.com, an online tool where students "turn in" their assignments to confirm authenticity and accuracy before submitting final versions to the professor.
  • Experience classes through PowerPoint or GotoMeeting software that appeal to both visual and audio learners, and benefit from archived lessons so you may review complex topics while completing class assignments.
  • Receive robust, comprehensive career support services to help you define your career goals and leverage your new degree to the fullest.

Accreditation

An accredited, non-profit institution, The Chicago School has been known as an innovator in the field for more than 30 years – working to push the boundaries and further the impact that psychology has on our world. On the leading-edge of our discipline and its many emerging applications, we provide students extensive options to "customize" their coursework and develop the focused expertise that suits their individual interests and career goals—by selecting concentrations or specializations in areas such as Latino mental health, child and adolescent psychology, neuropsychology, sport and exercise psychology, gerontology, organizational leadership, addictions, and more.

The Chicago School is known for fostering one of the field's most pioneering and innovative learning environments, blending world-class theoretical preparation with multicultural training and intensive hands-on learning. Classroom instruction is supported and enhanced by multiple opportunities for applying skills in real-world settings and building resumes that will prepare students for their post-graduate professional lives. Throughout their educational experience, students will benefit from intensive personal and professional mentoring offered by practitioner faculty, and from multicultural training that will prepare them for the global world.

Our faculty members take learning seriously, participating in programs to measure their effectiveness as teachers and receiving year-round training in attitudes, behaviors, and processes that support student learning. We systematically evaluate student learning outcomes and apply the assessment skills and 360-degree feedback tools of the psychology field to help students better understand and capitalize on their unique learning styles

Some great professors and others are horrible

I have had an excellent experience except that I had to withdraw my studies for now to get sufficient finance.

An impact to my future goals

I previously enrolled in the I/O program and after a semester felt it was not for me as I am more health inclined. The switch to counseling psych was effortless and I am grateful for the experiences so far. I have got the opportunity to learn from professors who practice and the knowledge impacts me to the fullest.
