History
Since its foundation in 1974, the university has evolved into a research-intensive institution with around 14,000 students. The City Center Campus is located in the heart of Osnabrück, and all facilities are easily accessible by foot or bike. You can also get to the Westerberg Campus quickly by bike or bus.
Education
The University's selection of degree courses comprises around 180 Bachelor’s, Master’s, and doctoral programs. Especially the international orientation and the wide range of courses offered in English stand out. In addition, exchange programs and international short-term programs enable you to gain valuable intercultural experience. Research
Osnabrück University, founded in 1974, has built up an outstanding reputation over the past five decades - regionally, nationally and internationally. Its research strengths include membrane biology, comparative law, artificial intelligence, cognitive science and migration research. These areas of research and teaching at the highest level are embedded in a comprehensive scientific canon of numerous other disciplines. The research results achieved here flow directly into a highly qualified academic education in the form of "research-based learning".
Career
From 2015 to 2023, the Equal Opportunity Office provided support for academic, professional, and career development, as well as talent promotion, through the MentUOS Mentoring Program. This program was aimed at female students as well as intersex and non-binary students. In this important area, the Equal Opportunity Office intends to increasingly adopt an intersectional perspective and changes its offer from an exclusive mentoring program to a multifaceted and broad empowerment program for students.

BSc Chemistry is a three-year undergraduate course which one can apply after completing 12th from science stream. BSc Chemistry course deals with different aspects of Chemistry including organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry.

Current Status
At the university, I could feel like I have every opportunity to learn and develop myself further. I am glad I study at the University of Osnabrück. Even though the city is a little bit small, it is a nice student city. and the university presents a proper learning environment.

Student services
For almost two decades, StudiOS (Student Service Center) in the city center - Neuer Graben 27 - has been the central point of contact for a variety of concerns in the life cycle of national and international prospective students, students and guests. The Central Study Counseling Service, the Administrative Service for Student Affairs, the International Office and the BAföG department of the Studierendenwerk are united in one location.
Housing services
Around 1,700 places in halls of residence are available to students at the two universities in Osnabrück. Accommodation options range from single rooms to shared flats and family apartments.

Campus life
Osnabrück is located in Lower Saxony, in the northern half of Germany, which means you can drive to the sea in less than two hours. At the same time, the outskirts of the city border on North Rhine-Westphalia. Münster and Bielefeld are our neighboring cities and it only takes an hour by train to get to Dortmund in the Ruhr region. The Netherlands, with the border towns Enschede and Hengelo, are approximately only 80 kilometers away in linear distance. The Berlin-Amsterdam, Munich-Hamburg, and Cologne-Hamburg lines intersect at Osnabrück Central Station and from Münster-Osnabrück Airport, you can even fly to international destinations.
