Cody, Wyoming is known as “Buffalo Bill’s Little Town in the Rockies.” Established in 1896 by Colonel William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, Cody is a true Western town. Cody is a quiet, clean, safe and friendly town of approximately 9,000 people. It is also the Eastern gateway to world-famous Yellowstone National Park. Wyoming’s outdoor beauty is second-to-none, and Cody is a fantastic place to enjoy this beauty by engaging in some of the outdoor activities Cody is famous for. Hiking, fishing, skiing, rock climbing, river rafting, rodeo, and horseback riding are just a few of the adventures available in this exciting locale. Cody is also a cultural mecca for Western aficionados. It is home to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, called the “Smithsonian of the West” by American author James Michener and offers numerous celebrations of Western culture throughout the year including Inter-Tribal Native American Pow-Wows, as well as world-class art and music shows and exhibitions.
