History

Memorandum of the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate establishing a second state university in Trier and Kaiserslautern next to the University of Mainz.

Adoption of the state law on the establishment of the University of Trier-Kaiserslautern.

Research

The TU Kaiserslautern (TUK) is a research university with international visibility. Top quality research according to the recognized international standards of the respective disciplines is central to the self-image of the TUK. The quality and strength of research in its entire spectrum arise from the disciplines and orientation towards the major socially relevant research topics. The research strategy steers a dynamic process of profiling, largely supported by the research initiative of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Two research centers and six main research areas represent the currently strongest scientific areas of the university.

Student services

The Student Services Centre provides comprehensive services and information about TU Kaiserslautern and is known on campus as the SSC.

In Germany, health insurance coverage is mandatory for all students. We recommend to have a travel health insurance when arriving in Germany. During the first weeks of your arrival we will then support you in finding a suitable health insurance cover for you.
