The Master of Arts in Applied Mathematics is designed for students who are interested in using mathematical analysis in business, industry or government. Students develop the ability to use mathematical and computational methods to solve real-world problems and demonstrate the ability to communicate mathematical and computational findings in written and oral forms.
As a culminating experience, faculty-supervised student teams work on projects sponsored by local industrial firms. Each project offers students opportunities to apply classroom skills to real-world problems. Graduates of the program are competitive in the job market and/or are prepared to continue their graduate studies at the doctoral level.
