The study programme in Food Safety in the Agri-food Chain leads to "magisterij" (master's degree). It is implemented by the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The goal of the programme is to provide students with sound scientific foundation at a high academic level for careers in Food safety in Agro-food chain and to qualify them for individual research work. 


  • The study programme lasts for two academic years (four semesters). The first semester is devoted to providing students with scientific backgrounds of compulsory and elective study courses, the second and the third intend to broaden the expertise in relations between systems, consumers, and technologies, and the fourth is devoted to research work and preparation of the Master's thesis.
  • The most successful students may continue their studies to Ph.D. level, where the skills and knowledge of postgraduate study programme will be deepened and the science research profile of the expert is shaped.
  • The study programme in Food Safety in the Agri-Food Chain enables students to tailor their own studies by selecting elective courses.
