The Educational Human Resource Development (EHRD) program with an emphasis in Adult Education develops adult education practitioners who are critically reflective, student-centered and committed to social justice. 

About

Our programs prepare individuals to administer programs and teach adults in a variety of settings including community centers, community colleges, literacy centers, health care facilities and the workplace. The Ph.D. prepares individuals for the professoriate as well as other settings.

A 37 credit hour degree program which allows an individual to take the required course work completely as Web delivery; or, if so desired, may have an option to take campus-based courses. Although a final exam is not required for this degree, individuals must compile a professional portfolio documenting degree progress, which is submitted in the last semester of coursework.

  • A one-page minimum statement of professional intent/career objective -- Must indicate why you wish to pursue the degree, and what the degree can accomplish for your career goals.
  • A current resume Work experience, academic history, professional and community services, publications and presentations, internships
  • Three reference letters These should be mailed or e-mailed direct to the Department from the writer. The letter should provide information on the connection of the writer to the applicant as well as why the applicant is a good fit for the program.
