The Secondary Education and Special Education MEd program is designed for individuals choosing to change careers after earning a bachelor’s degree in another field, to prepare them for initial teacher certification in secondary education (grades 7 through 12) and special education (grades 7 through 12).
Classes and Curriculum
This combined MEd degree program may be completed on a part- or a full-time basis, with evening classes that accommodate the schedules of working professionals. Though the logistics of field experience could change in any given semester, students usually spend seven full days in the classroom over the course of a semester. During the student-teaching semester, students must spend every day in the classroom for 14 weeks.
