A limited number of places are offered each year to suitably qualified students to follow a program of study leading to this award.
The requirement of this Master of Built Environment (Research) degree at the University of Technology Sydney is the preparation of a thesis which is judged by its examiners to be a distinct contribution to the knowledge of the subject. The format of the body of work and the length of the written dissertation are determined after discussion with UTS: Design, Architecture and Building staff and must be approved by the Graduate Studies Committee.
Candidates may be required to first undertake coursework subjects in research methodology to gain experience with research methods and skills. Candidates are required to present papers, which form part of the preparation of their thesis, at the UTS: Design, Architecture and Building postgraduate seminars.
