About

Taught by a team of technology researchers, expert practitioners and internationally recognized visiting faculty, the Information Technology program of the Hellenic American College combines a robust core curriculum with a specialization path in one of three rapidly growing IT sectors: Business Computing and Big Data Analytics, Applications and Software Development, Computer Networks and Security.

Overview

MSIT: Business Computing and Big Data Analytics

Develop competencies in areas such as data-mining and data-warehousing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence and neural networks, social network analysis and mining, pattern analysis and detection, and the connection of these advanced IT technologies to actual business needs.

MSIT: Applications and Software Development

Gain design, analytical and programming skills for e-commerce, decision support systems and enterprise applications, as well as for mobile and gaming applications.

MSIT: Computer Networks and Security

Topics in this specialization include wireless and mobile networks, security compliance, risk management, cryptography, disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

The program is in alignment with the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) model curriculum for Information Security Management. Completing the program can qualify as one year of work experience towards the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM®) designation.

Career Paths

The Information Technology program of the Hellenic American College is designed to support both traditional and emerging career opportunities. The number of available career paths for IT professionals has increased significantly. Rather than being concentrated almost exclusively in large information systems groups in major and mid-sized corporations, job opportunities now also exist in virtually all organizations and in all industries. To exploit these expanding opportunities, students must be familiar with not only the technology, but also the business and environment in which they will work. MSIT students acquire this knowledge through the diverse core courses of the program: IT Strategy and Management, Database Management Systems, System Analysis and Design, Data and Communication Networks.
