Overview

Whether working in the philanthropy and not-for-profit sector in managerial roles, the private sector in corporate social responsibility, or government in a policy-making capacity, the Master of Social Impact (MSI) at Swinburne University of Technology provides the core capabilities required to lead people effectively in a rapidly changing social economy and business environment.

 The foundation units address social investment and philanthropy, social entrepreneurship and innovation, creativity and design, and corporate responsibility and accountability. Graduates may seek employment as managers, trustees, advisers, investors, fundraisers and social entrepreneurs across NGOs, government, businesses and corporations, nonprofit, philanthropic and related private sector agencies that provide and manage grants and/or raise funds.

Whether a social entrepreneur, working within the philanthropy and not for profit sector in a management or innovation role, in the private sector in corporate responsibility and social innovation, or in government policy dealing with complex social issues, the MSI provides core capabilities required to lead people effectively in a rapidly changing social economy and business environment. 

The foundation units address social investment and philanthropy, social entrepreneurship and innovation, creativity and design, and corporate responsibility and accountability. Graduates also acquire specialist knowledge in evaluation and impact measurement and social entrepreneurship and advanced real-world experience in strategic philanthropy and social venture development.
