Overview

Upon graduation, Nursing - Health Systems, Nursing Leadership, and Effectiveness Science students will have the skills to apply theory and knowledge gained through course work and expert-driven immersion experiences. Graduates of this program will be prepared to tackle the difficult challenges facing health systems in a global society.

The web-blended curriculum incorporates self-paced learning with on-campus engagement. Interaction with our world-class faculty and other students occurs online and during approximately four to eight distributed days of on-site classes each semester, supplemented by virtual learning experiences.

Due to its web-blended nature, this program offered at University of Michigan accommodates working students as well as students living outside of southeastern Michigan. Students who focus in informatics obtain content and practice hours that may qualify them to sit for a variety of informatics certifications.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Earned a BS in nursing or are in the process of completing a BS in nursing from a CCNE, AACN, or NLN accredited institution. Note: Successful completion of the BS in nursing must occur prior to the desired term of admission
  • Minimum B average in all undergraduate coursework (this includes all courses taken to satisfy the degree requirements for a BS in nursing; an overall B average is usually equivalent to a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale)
