The mission of the Department of Kinesiology is to facilitate wellness among individuals through the study and application of human movement principles across the lifespan and through the management of and participation in physical activity, exercise, and sport. Overview

The Department of Kinesiology offers programs of study for students wishing to prepare for professional careers in physical education teaching (Adapted and K-12) or related disciplines (Athletic Training Education Program, Exercise Science, Fitness, Sport Psychology and Leadership, and the Graduate Program in Sport Management).

Other requirements

General requirements

  •  A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in Kinesiology/Physical Education or the equivalent;
  •  An overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or better and an upper division Kinesiology/Physical Education major GPA of 2.75 or better;
  • A minimum cumulative score of 150 on the verbal, 141 on the quantitative and 3.5 on the analytical writing sections of the Graduate Record Examination.
