Overview
The Johns Hopkins University Certificate in Nonprofit Management is a fully online, accredited graduate program designed to sharpen your analytical and management skills, whether you are assuming a leadership role in a nonprofit, aspiring to one, or hoping to gain a greater understanding of an important and vibrant sector with which you interact frequently. All the courses feature a global perspective for relevance in today’s world of interconnected economies and communication.
For students already working in nonprofit sub-specialties—such as the arts, health, conservation, or international development—the courses will show how those fields fit into the larger nonprofit sector and how the larger forces affect their own leadership and management challenges. The courses are also relevant for students pursuing careers in government or in multilateral institutions that require extensive interaction with nonprofits in the US or other countries.
For students in other countries, the courses offer a greater understanding of the role and potential of nongovernmental organizations and convey the best practices emerging from the American experience and from other countries with an advanced nongovernmental sector.
The certificate may be completed on its own or in addition to graduate degree offerings within Johns Hopkins’ Advanced Academic Programs, including Communication, Cultural Heritage Management, Museum Studies, and Public Management.
