The aim of the Master of Engineering Technology program is to produce graduates who are equipped with essential management knowledge and an appreciation of the latest technologies in addition to their initial specialisation. The skill set would therefore allow the graduate to manage more complex technological or engineering businesses. 


Program objectives

Students who successfully complete the Master of Engineering Technology will be able to demonstrate their ability to:

    - Critically evaluate knowledge from literature and other information sources relevant to their field

    - Apply asset management theory and practice to the management of engineering assets

    - Evaluate the importance of technological innovation and risk in engineering businesses

    - Apply the specialist knowledge and skills acquired in their specialisation

Programme Structure

The Master of Engineering Technology comprises eight units of study as follows:

    - Two courses from Schedule A (core courses):

    - Four courses from Schedule B (related to the specialisation); and

    - An Industry Project course in Schedule C (2 units).


The specialisation study provides students with knowledge and skills in a specific discipline. The three specialisation study areas in the Master of Engineering Technology are:

    - Structural Engineering Design

    - Engineering Management

    - Engineering Project Management

Academic Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements:

    - Completion of an Australian university four year Bachelor degree in the area of engineering in a relevant cognate specialisation (major), or equivalent.

    - English Language Proficiency requirements for Category 3.
