The Innovation Management programme of Aalborg University is a two-year full time international MSc specialization programme for degree students. The double-degree programme leads to a master’s degree.

Overview

The graduate acquires advanced knowledge within innovation/innovation management theories and methods, which can be applied in both research and practice for identifying, analyzing and solving relevant theoretical and practical problems.

Double-Degree Programme

TheInnovation Management programme of Aalborg University is run by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and coordinated by the Sino-Danish Center in Beijing in collaboration with the university. The Danish degree is awarded by Aalborg University and is named Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration (Innovation Management) and in Danish Cand.merc. i Innovation Management. The Chinese degree is awarded by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). The programme enrolls both Danish and international students.

The programme is managed by the International Business Centre at AAU and is taught in English and is designed following the principles of transnational, transdisciplinary, and team-based culture; the principles that define today’s dynamic and fast changing world.

Job and Career

Employers are increasingly focusing on innovation and business development and are in need of experts and managers, who are qualified in these areas. Innovation is today seen as a very important driver for future competitiveness and sustainability of companies, institutions and organisations of various sizes.

The IM-curriculum reflects this need for innovation managers and experts, who can build an organisation to be creative, innovative and who have a global mindset. It entails detailed understanding of global market mechanisms, technological development, strategic insight, organisational skills, entrepreneurial drive and creativity. By incorporating these disciplines in the curriculum, the IM education aims at meeting these demands of the job market.

Furthermore, the programme has aspirations not only to equip the candidates with basic skills of finding their place and integrating into organizational structures of existing entities, but also to encourage their interest to start up their own companies.

The programme also offers its candidates opportunities to participate in academic research in the field of innovation, opening up opportunities for them both in academia and the public domain.

  • A bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration (three years) or equivalent to it is required. 
  • Applicants with an equivalent Danish or foreign degree at a similar level may be qualified for admission and will be individual assessed.
  • All applicants must upload a motivation letter in the Application Portal (max. 1 page in English).
  • Applicants applying for Master's programmes at Aalborg University must submit results of an IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge test.
