The Industrial Mathematics program of Rutgers University puts an emphasis on mathematical modeling, computational techniques, and statistical reasoning.   • It is strongly recommended that the prospective student complete, by the date of enrollment in the graduate program, a Bachelor’s degree with a major in mathematics or a related field with a GPA greater than 3.0
  • The department requires transcripts of all undergraduate work, and two letters of recommendation.
  • Applicants for the industrial applied mathematics concentration must submit a statement indicating that they are proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: Fortran, C, C++, or an equivalent. Students concerned about their preparation should contact the concentration coordinator.
