Overview
About the Program
The Economics program of Rutgers University accepts both full-time and part-time graduate students. Well-qualified full-time students may be able to complete the degree requirements within three semesters. Most part-time students should expect to take two or three years. We strongly suggest that part-time students take no more than two classes per semester. All matriculated students must complete their degree within four years of entering the program. Some graduate courses in economics are also open to non-matriculated students. But please note that non-matriculated students will not be allowed to take graduate classes unless they have taken undergraduate Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics and Calculus.
