About

The Management and Engineering in Electrical Power Systems programme offered at the RWTH Aachen University main objective is to offer methodological and problem-oriented education, related to research as well as practice. The program will cover advanced topics in the areas of engineering, science, and economics.

The course modules particularly focus on high voltage engineering, electrical machines and battery storage systems used to automatize and manage complex power systems. You will be exposed to topics such as the physical problems of energy storage and power electronics. You will also learn to solve faults and stability problems in power systems, as well as use computational engineering tools to automatize and manage complex power systems.

Overview

The program consists of two semesters of lectures, exercises, and practical courses in Electrical Power Systems Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in combination with an eighteen-week Management training program at Maastricht School of Management.

During this Management program, you are trained in small groups to solve problems related to global transformation, sustainable competitivity and organization development. All of these courses are taught at  Maastricht School of Management in Maastricht in the Netherlands.

The final Master's thesis is an independent project and must be completed within a fixed period of six months. The Master's thesis is generally concluded with a defense in the form of an oral presentation.

Academic Requirements

  • This programme does not recognise GRE® scores.

The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. The GRE® General Test contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.

  • Bachelor in Engineering or Bachelor in Science related to your desired study program awarded by an internationally recognized university-level institution.
  • Basic knowledge in business administration is requested as an admission requirement.
  • Students with no previous knowledge in management have to participate in a preparatory online course conducted by the School of Business and Economics at RWTH Aachen University prior to the beginning of the degree program (July-Sep).
  • Non-native English speaking candidates, must submit evidence of proficiency in English. Moreover, practical professional experience of as a rule not less than one year is required.
