Overview
Students in this Dietetics program at Kansas State University will be able to apply cutting-edge information in food, nutrition, food service management and wellness to enhance dietetics practice; think independently and critically to evaluate and apply new research concepts and theories to advance the profession of dietetics; understand public policy and current systems of health care delivery with particular reference to the role of the dietitian; and advance the profession of dietetics by contributing to evidence-based practice.
Many dietitians work in health care facilities or public health settings, including:
- hospitals
- extended care facilities
- Women, Infants and Children (WIC) programs
- food stamp programs
- programs for the elderly
- noncommercial and commercial foodservice operations
