Overview

The Management program at Clemson University also prepares qualified students for further doctoral study in the fields of supply chain and operations management, as well as information sys­tems management. MSM students benefit immensely from the focused curriculum, close coordination of courses with the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, and small class sizes.

Learning outcomes

The MSM program requires a business discipline under­graduate or graduate degree. The curriculum requires 30 credit hours, including seven core management discipline courses (Information Systems, Managerial Decision Mod­eling, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior/Human Resources Management, Project Management, Statistical Analysis of Business Op­erations, and Strategic Management) and three elective courses. Elec­tive courses can cover a broad range of topics in supply chain and information technology management as well as entrepreneurship and innovation management. 

A thesis or comprehensive final examination is required once all coursework has been completed. The Graduate Programs Committee will approve the final program for each student based on his/her background, interests and availability of courses. Students can complete the program in ten months; however, there are a limited number of graduate courses offered by the Department of Management during summer sessions (It is possible for students to take an independent study or directed readings course within their area of interest during the summer).
