Overview
In Childhood Studies, you will learn about children's everyday lives and the dynamic relationships between economic, social, cultural, institutional, and political contexts related to children and childhood.
You will learn how to conduct ethically sound research with and on children, to promote children’s voices, and to advocate on children’s behalf and in collaboration with them.
In this MPhil in Childhood Studies at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) you will get:

What can you become?
The master's programme in Childhood Studies is relevant for building a career, both in research and related to children and childhood in different public sectors. This may include policy and planning for children's living conditions in ministries, institutions and NGO's, both locally and internationally.
This is an advanced post-graduate research degree with emphasis on independent research. The degree is an essential stepping stone for pursuing a PhD and a further career in academia.

General requirements
- Admittance to the programme requires a bachelor's degree in the social sciences.
- The master's programme is interdisciplinary and accepts Norwegian and Nordic students, in addition to self-financed international students.
- To be accepted into the programme students must have at least an average grade of C (by the Norwegian grading system) in the admission criteria. A C degree, however, does not guarantee admission.
