The postgraduate programme Electronics/ Automation 120 Cr from University of Gävle is a two-year programme and requires an undergraduate (B.Sc.) degree for admission. The programme is entirely given in English.

The aim of the programme is to give the student advanced knowledge of Electronics specialized in Automation. The Master studies are based on a previously achieved B. Sc. degree in Electronics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. An advanced theoretical program is offered, with assignments and projects in a modern, well-equipped laboratory.

English is the language

The education is given entirely in English, and the programme is following European educational standard (the Bologna model). The programme is interdisciplinary in the fields of radio frequency measurements, signal processing, advanced control systems, robotics and machine vision. A specialized million-dollar lab is available for the students 24 hours a day.

GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

English requirements

IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at desiganated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.
PTE admission requirements PTE Academic PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.

General requirements

  • A completed Bachelor's degree, corresponding to a Swedish Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS), or equivalent academic qualifications from an internationally recognised university.
  • Electronics as Major (90 ects) or equivalent and at least 30 ects mathematics (including Linear algebra and multivariable analysis )as well as a course in signal processing.
  • English language proficiency equivalent to (the Swedish upper secondary school) English course B/6.
