With a strong theoretical grounding coupled with the practical experience developed on your placements, you will have the necessary expertise to meet the Nursing & Midwifery Council's high standards of care as a specialist nurse.
There will be the opportunity to explore concepts of health behaviours and promotion in the public health arena, and you will also consider how to effectively meet the wellbeing needs of individuals, groups and wider communities.
By exploring leadership and management in clinical practice, you will examine the challenges of delivering health and social care services in the current climate especially in relation to professional school nursing.
Career
On successful completion of the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing - School Nursing from Leeds Beckett University , you will be able to apply for the third part of the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) register as a specialist school nurse. Our graduates work as school nurses with different groups of children in a range of settings.
